Student Leadership Tour (#AtlantisBuild)

In collaboration with our Niagara Falls City School District, a group of Niagara Falls High School and North Tonawanda High School students toured our Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center to learn about modern injustices that stems from slavery, our local history of freedom seekers, and their charge as upstanding citizens of change.

This coordinated effort was in response to a recently publicized racial incident that occurred at a soccer game in our county. As part of a range of culturally responsive learning opportunities we are building for our youth, its goal is to support our youth in better understanding themselves, each other, the history that shapes the world around them, and their role in changing it for the better.
