In this video, we demonstrate the field installation of a saddle tap onto spiral pipe.

TOOLS NEEDED:
Saddle
Hammer
Screwdriver
Marker
Tek Screws
Foil Tape
Duct Seal
Screw Gun

OPTIONAL:
Sawzall or snips

HOW TO INSTALL SADDLE TAP:

Place the saddle in correct position Draw a line all the way around the inside of the saddle tap with your marker; then remove it temporarily.

Grab your screwdriver and hammer. Place the screwdriver, chisel corner down, and smack it with your hammer, until you achieve an open slice in the pipe.

Take hand snips and start your cut, removing up to 3/8″ of over cut around your line, until finished. If using hand snips, this may be difficult, so try to lift the center cut up, to make the cut go easier.
Remove and dispose of the cutout drop properly

Replace the saddle back on your pipe, and ensure the fit and hole are correct. Add sealant to the cutout. Place the saddle over sealant, and begin to screw it down with 4-6 tek screws.

Remove backing from foil tape carefully, then place it around all four sides. You’ve successfully mounted your saddle tap onto spiral pipe!
