A study on Acts 8:9-25

My Study notes for Acts 9-26

Vs 10 there abouts
There is no substitute for the power of God
That’s what I am seeing here
You have a man giving him self the name great in reference to god like greatness.
However when this “Great man” comes into a moment where the power of God is real and is being placed unto to others by the transference of laying on of hands he the “great man” now knows what he has down does not compare and if he intends to keep his name great he must have this at all cost.

However the anointing cannot be bought, the power of God cannot be bought. Which this all does seem kinda of crazy bc it’s free!

But I mean it would be foolish to assume we could purchase something eternal that we could purchase something heavenly with that of something of this world, such a gift cannot be purchased by carnal things.

These types are in ministry. They just haven’t been found out yet like Simon. Or they just haven’t told on themselves yet like Simon. Or even worse they have not been in a moment that the Holy Spirit has been at work in to expose them. Notice Simon was well in it before we got to this point. Rug
Let’s modernize this a little we look at most things in through the lens of money such as the saying goes time is money. Most of everything we do or look to acquire in this world has a dollar sign next to it. So let’s be carful to not also look at the spiritual this way; the same way Simons looked at. The way I would say that some very notable pastors/preachers look at it and I would say be a partner in Simons sin here as they look at the church as a means of support rather than as an opportunity for ministry! Man some of you were not ready to hear that so I know for sure this next part you are really not ready for it. There is a more subtle form of this same sin not so easily recognized. Conceit moves men in a very similar way as to covetousness. Ambition is great and a strong motivator unto greed. There is a common mistake made here to those I first mentioned and that is to dearie and indulge in the dignities of Christian/church leadership in a completely separate form of it to be intended for just the desire to do the work set before as Christians. There is even a simpler sub group of this; desiring the benefits of a Faith filled Christian life/walk without the Faith with out the walking out of the scriptures. That is all the scriptures even the ones you don’t like. These are those that look for the Christian advantage but not the responsibilities of the life a Christian is called to. Like to have all that this life as a Christian has to offer without any of the willingness to accept the responsibility of what the scriptures has called us to live. You know the be Holy for I am holy. The willingness to accept restraint and control. You know the I have the freedom to do all things but not all things are beneficial for me to do.

The story the man sold everything he had for a one pearl to just bury it as he’s creates treasure
