How to fix a VIZIO TV that won't turn on ($600 SAVED)

This TV model was a VIZIO e550i-b2e.

The issue was the power light would come on, but then fade away and the TV would not turn on. After solving my issue and researching further, there is a known common issue with the power and backlight board pin connector. Simply re-solder these pins and it should fix your issue.

If this is not your problem, look very closely at the power supply board for any sign and burnt resistors/capacitors or burning on the board.

This was my parents TV and I saved them $600.

I would be happy to try to help out with any other issues as these TVs are generally pretty easy to fix as long as the entire board isn't shot. Even in this case you can buy a replacement board for about $70. With TVs so cheap today, might not be worth it. But if you are on a strict budget it is an option.
