Catching a baseball OUTSIDE Marlins Park!

Waveland Avenue in Chicago? McCovey Cove in San Francisco? There are lots of places to get baseballs outside of major league stadiums, and the Clevelander in Miami is one of them. That's the club behind the left field wall. Balls occasionally bounce all the way out, but you're much more likely to get one by asking an employee to hook it up. That's how I was able to get on the board before the stadium officially opened.

Another highlight from this game: not having to look at the hideous home run sculpture in left-center field. The Marlins thankfully got rid of that monstrosity and replaced it with a snazzy party deck. Thanks to a friendly employee out there, I was invited to check it out before the game while it was nice and empty.

During the game I sat behind home plate and snagged my first foul ball of the season. Marlins Park is a tough but interesting place, and I had a fun time overall.
