KEN COLYER JAZZMEN - RUNNING WILD

Description: DISCLAIMER - I do not own any copyright for this material but use it as an educational tool under the FAIR USE GUIDENCE in broadening the awareness of TRADITIONAL JAZZ with no commercial or monetary intentions whatsoever.
RUNNING WILD was recorded live on the 30th June 1957 at the Jazz Club on Eel Pie Island. The band members were the 'classic' Ken on trumpet, Ian Wheeler clarinet, Mac Duncan trombone, Johnny Bastable banjo, Ron Ward string bass and Colin Bowden on
drums.
Eel Pie Island is situated on the river Thames at Twickenham and was the Middlesex Saturday night centre for jazz during the late 50's and early 60's [before devoting itself to Blues and then Rock].
The only access was to cross a small rickety bridge from shore for the exorbitant sum of 2p charged by two 'old ladies' for this privilege.
