Mountain Biking Lake Tahoe's Big Chief Trail

On my first mountain bike trip up to Lake Tahoe my first stop was the Big Chief Trail. I took the long route climbing the lower and upper Sawtooth Ridge Trail from Truckee and then the fire road to the top. You can cut your ride time in half by simply driving up the fire road past the main parking lot to where Big Chief and Sawtooth intersect with the fire road ... there's plenty of parking. It's then a pretty easy fire road climb up to the top of Big Chief. Simply said this trail is the absolute most fun i've ever had riding my bike ... an insane amount of work went into both planning and building this trail by the Truckee Trails Association ... enjoy!
