barry & iris | home [+s6]

“that’s the kind of heartbreak time could never mend.”

My first vid! I had this idea for a long time but didn’t have the means or skill. And now that I have Adobe Premiere Pro (but still working on the skills lol), I knew this had to be the first video I make. When I first listened to this album last year, I was excited to figure out which would be ‘their’ song, as I always do (‘peace’ from the new album is totally their song, which I hope to vid next). I thought this song was perfect for them, specifically their s3 arc where they first move in together and there was a real threat of Barry losing Iris. And they have such a strong concept of ‘home’ that I knew I would have to incorporate it in this vid.

Then s6 happened, in which Barry finally gave in to his earlier suspicions that this wasn’t his Iris because she said she wasn’t his home anymore, which was so fitting that I had to make the second half of the video based on that plot. I tried really hard to match the lyrics while also incorporating the show’s storylines, but it turned into such a mess lol. I also watched a lot of s6 for the first time while making this video, because I felt westallen scenes were so few and far between this season I couldn’t be too bothered to keep up. But damn, when we do get wa scenes, they are so good it almost makes it all worth it. Hopefully s7 will treat us better. I’m so upset that Iris is still stuck in that mirror after 9+ episodes, so I ended the video with many of their reunion scenes to make me feel better (the fact that there are so many of them means that they get separated that much, which I am not a fan of either tbh. Let them be happy for once!)
