What are the Diggers Doing on Cleveleys Beach?

[Sorry, some intermittent wind noise] So, what are the diggers doing on Cleveleys beach? They're doing site investigations in advance of the forthcoming Wyre Beach Management Scheme.

The old concrete sea wall at Rossall Beach Cleveleys curves out under the beach, but because it's old it's not built in the way we'd build them today. Engineers are digging a series of holes to plan and map how the old wall is built, and what ground conditions are like at that depth. They'll use this information to produce the detailed design for the beach management scheme, which will stabilise the beach and stop it from washing away in storms.
