Solar Storm Coming & A Big Weather Shift

A solar flare and ensuing CME erupted and is headed straight for Earth. Expect disruptions to the magnetic field over the next 24 hours. Temperatures will be warm out west and cool in the Great Lakes and Northeast through the weekend. But a big pattern change will reverse that into next week. The Northeast will contend with heavy rain through tonight, and that will move out tomorrow. Pockets of severe weather in the southern Plains and upper Southeast/lower Mid-Atlantic will be possible today and tomorrow. A more widespread severe weather event possibly returns to the Plains by early next week. Plus, the GFS continues to advertise a major hurricane into the Southeast.
