DIY Pelican Case Diesel Heater: Winter Camping Survival Test

I built a custom diesel heater inside a Pelican case to survive -10°C winter camping in my roof top tent. In this video, I show you exactly how I built this portable heating setup, how it mounts to the Subaru Forester, and test if it can actually keep us warm in freezing Canadian winter conditions.

The Forester: Built over a few years the 2004 Subaru Forester XS was built to test the limits of what is capable in an early 2000's Subaru with bolt-ons. Created for overlanding adventures it takes on the hardest offroad trails while having everything for camping.
