Georgetown Loop Railroad: #111 6-10/17-2022.

On June 10, and Father's Day weekend, 2022, we made our way to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado to visit the Georgetown Loop Railroad. We stopped by on the 10th on our way to the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad which you can see those videos here:

While were there for both days, the motive power on the regular runs was one of Georgetown Loop's three steam locomotives on their roster, #111.

111 was built in 1926 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as a three-foot narrow gauge, outside frame, 2-8-0 "Consolidation" for the International Railways of Central America. 111 would mostly haul freight trains until the 1960's when she was purchased by the Sundown and Southern Railroad without being operated. 111 would change ownerships many times until 2001 when she was on display in Breckinridge Colorado. In 2010, Georgetown Loop purchased the locomotive and moved it to the Silver Plume shops. Two years later, restoration work began on the 111, and she rolled out of the shops completed in 2016. 111 continues to haul many happy passengers up and down from Devils Gate to Silver Plume to this day.

*111 has two whistles in this video. If she has a Lunkenheimer 3 chime, that footage was taken on the 10th. If she has the replica Southern Pacific 6 chime, that was taken on the 17th.
