It has been a hard year for gymnastics with many fights to not lose motivation, financial difficulties and gymnasts putting an end to their competitive career besides the curtain, outside of the carpet (to talk about a few: Aleksandra Soldatova, Neviana Vladinova and Anna Basta, wishing them the best in their future life). But it also been a year with very proud moments: gymnasts becoming European champion for the first time, master classes all around the world, but also, and more importantly, gymnasts speaking up about the abusive environnement in gymnastics. Many gymnasts had their voices put in the light this year and used them for good, from Soldatova about ED to Natalia Godunko without forgetting Kseniya Moustafaeva, Olatz Rodríguez, Monika Mícková, Angélica Kvieczynski, Rachel Smith, Livia Giles, Gymnasts of ÖGK in Sweden … talking about physical and psychological abuse contrary to the spirit of sport and destroying human beings (insults, degradations, preventing to drink water, forcing to keep a low weight to the detriment of a global vision of the body) and crazy parents.
