How to Build an Oven Cabinet for your DIY Kitchen Remodel

In this video, Craftsman Connection, a master cabinet maker will teach you how to build a oven cabinet for a double oven out of paint grade maple for your DIY kitchen remodel. As you may know, the cost of plywood has been changing drastically in 2021, where the same sheet of 3/4" C2 Maple went from about $65 after tax to $87 after tax in just about 2 months, and then to $115 after tax towards the end of 2021. I have broke down my expenses in this video, so you can adjust your pricing if needed. My current cabinet shop rate is $75 per hour. I'll create a few more videos on other types of cabinets, so you can learn to build cabinets for your own remodel, or clients, if you have or willing to acquire the tools. After you build your oven cabinet, measure all of the openings for the doors, and drawers, to have your own cabinet doors and drawer made from a local cabinet shop, or online supplier.

For the oven cabinet, I purchased 5 sheets of 3/4" C2 Maple plywood and the solid maple from Plywood Company of Fort Worth, and the corner moulding from ResDoor in Fort Worth, TX.

This cabinet job was needed because of the terrible freeze we had in late February, 2021, where many residents had their water pipes burst and flood their homes. Many of us contractors made it our priority to get Texas residents back into their homes.
