Navigation Lights On A Cargo Ship | Life At Sea
Ships are required to exhibit certain navigation lights from sunset through sunrise. These important lights all have unique characteristics to let other vessels know what type of vessel you are and which direction you are facing. This information is very important for knowing how vessels should behave between each other in traffic situations or to let other vessels know your vessel is currently experiencing limitations in its ability to maneuver. This video takes a look at the navigation lights on a cargo ship as well as the control panel to operate them from the Bridge.
