Follow these instructions to replace the maintenance cartridge in the HP PageWide XL Pro 5200, 8200, 10000 printer series:

- To change the maintenance cartridge, you need gloves and a new maintenance cartridge.
- Start the replacement process at the front panel.
- Click the Ink button, then go to the Other Supplies tab.
- Then, go to Maintenance Cartridge and click Replace.
- Once the cartridge is moved to the replacement position, you have 40 seconds to change it.
- If you exceed that time limit, the maintenance cartridge automatically moves back so the printheads do not become dry.
- When ready to start replacing the maintenance cartridge press Start.
- When prompted, open the maintenance cartridge door.
- Next, remove the maintenance cartridge by gripping the handle and sliding it out.
- If you insert a partially used replacement cartridge, check the side of the cartridge to see the leftover in the maintenance cartridge.
- Make a note of the level remaining in the cartridge.
- You will be asked to figure this out later.
- Insert the new maintenance cartridge into the slot.
- Push the maintenance cartridge into place, but do not use too much force.
- Close the maintenance door to see the new maintenance cartridge.
- After the maintenance door is closed select the State of the cartridge.
- The maintenance cartridge is now installed, and you can use your printer.
