C++ coroutines are hard to debug. We provide crucial details that will help programmers understand how to access and manipulate coroutines inside GDB. A key aid is the -fdump-lang-coro option added to GCC 15.1 that is not yet documented. It dumps the intermediate representation of compiler-generated code of a transformed coroutine without which coroutines cannot be easily controlled inside GDB.

Zartaj Majeed

Zartaj has extensive experience developing large distributed systems, operating systems and desktop applications. He wrote a distributed job scheduler in C++ at Bloomberg that runs millions of jobs in the datacenter every day. He worked on desktop publishing software in C++ at Adobe, and the HP-UX operating system at Hewlett Packard. Zartaj has a particular interest in parsing having written parsers for many domain-specific languages over the years.
