An Ri Ra, meaning "wild celebration" in Gaelic, is an annual event in historic Uptown Butte hosted by the Montana Gaelic Cultural Society. Fondly revered as the Montana Irish Fest, this event promotes Irish culture through song, dance, workshops and more. Outdoor performances are held at the Original Mine Yard, the location of a historic headframe once used in the mining days. You will hear traditional and contemporary Irish tunes by local and international artists, many of whom are from Ireland, as well as see stunning Irish dancing on the stage. Dancing workshops are also available, as well as local author and music workshops, and Gaelic language courses! Your feet will be tapping their way across Uptown as you sample food and shop at the market of local vendors. An Ri Ra is a perfect summer celebration to take in Montana's beautiful Big Sky and enjoy the sunshine. We hope to see you in Butte, Montana!
