Pretty Place Chapel (Symmes Chapel) and Bald Rock - Cleveland, SC

2/5/2021 - Today we visit Symmes Chapel (a.k.a. Pretty Place) located with YMCA's Camp Greenville in Cleveland, SC, near Caesar's Head State Park. It's a beautiful and winding drive through the Blue Ridge Mountains ending at a breathtaking view as far as the eye can see. It was given by Mr. Fred W. Symmes for the enjoyment of the boys and girls who camp here each summer and is the spiritual center of the camp.

On our trip to the chapel, we also discovered Bald Rock Heritage Preserve. This spot also offers gorgeous views of the mountains looking out over Greenville and Pickins Counties as well as South Carolina's signature natural attraction, the mammoth granite dome known as Table Rock. Bald Rock is the size of a football field and has been recently been the spot for graffiti, although it's neither welcome nor legal. At least, the graffiti is only in this one area.

Both place are definitely beautiful and worth the drive.
