Horrific 100-car pileup leaves six dead and 65 hospitalised on icy interstate

A horrific 100-car crash has left six dead and 65 hospitalised in an icy highway pileup this morning.

Footage shows the mangled wreckage of cars and trucks as rescue teams cut trapped people from their vehicles on the I-35 in Fort Worth, Texas.

The exact cause of the massive crash is unclear, but a brutal storm and overnight sleet is understood to have made for treacherous conditions.

Officials are still searching through cars and trucks to make sure no one is still stuck inside after vehicles were left with "extensive damage."
