DELICIOUS & Traditional VIETNAMESE Sweets | Childhood Favorite Snacks In The Mekong

Started off with the market again! Chi La and I explored the market looking for some seafood specials to take back to Saigon with us! We struck gold when we were able to find Fermented Ba Khia!

We hit the road and of course you can’t go far without finding a couple places to stop on the way. We stoped for some banh la dua. Sticky rice, coconut, and other ingredients wrapped in pandan leaves and eaten as a very popular snack around the Mekong. Especially Tết holiday.

Finally arriving around Soc Trang we saw a noodle we have never eaten before, duck noodles with pepper. A very unique dish and something Chi La and I were happy to both try for the first time.

Now, when you go to Soc Trang you cannot go without going to the Willy Wonka Factory for banh pia. A durian stuffed pastry with, well, more flavors than I have ever seen in my life. A really fun place to experience and take a break from the drive.
