Colorado State Highpoint - Mt. Elbert Dayhike

We arrived in Colorado in mid afternoon on July 2nd and began our dayhike of Mt Elbert the next morning! It was a very long day on our way up to the summit at 14,400 feet. This was our first 14er and our first state highpoint of this trip. Mount Elbert made state highpoint #7 for me.

This was a tough hike but had awesome views. Especially looking north. This is an account on the South Elbert Trail. We were totally worn out after this hike but it was a neat experience and very rewarding.
