Anthony Lynn in Super Bowl Ad: Near Death Experience & Meeting His Rescuers

Los Angeles Chargers Head Coach Anthony Lynn appeared in a commercial campaign from Verizon called, “The Team Wouldn’t Be Here,” which showcases 11 NFL players and one head coach who were saved by first responders.

On August 20th, 2005, Lynn was struck by a drunk driver while he was crossing the street. He flew up to 50ft into a parked car, totaling that car. Lynn suffered two collapsed lungs, three broken ribs, major facial and shoulder damage that require four surgeries, and temporary paralysis. Miraculously, he walked out of the hospital 2 weeks later. The drunk driver was arrested and convicted of felony hit-and-run chargers.
