Need to freshen up your brass hardware? This is the only method I use

I refer to this method as HARDWARE SOUP!

Boil for 15 minutes in half vinegar and water.

Transfer to the sink.

Scrub with bar keepers friend and steel wool.

Rinse and enjoy your bright and shiny hardware!

Be sure your hardware is solid brass or this may remove the plating. However it will be clean and ready to spray paint.

This also works great with hinges or hardware that has been painted. The paint peels right off!
