The 1,400 Mile Lexus - 2005 Lexus LS430 (XF30) Review, Walkaround, Test Drive, Tour

When the Lexus marque was first launched in 1990, Toyota set to compete against the likes of Mercedes Benz, and BMW. They first launched the first ever Lexus, the LS 400 which proved to be a formidable adversary to the Mercedes Benz S Class, and the BMW 7 Series of that time.

In 2001, as a response to the extremely over-engineered Mercedes Benz W140 S Class. The 3rd generation LS was released, which is what we have here today. I am proud to feature this 3rd generation 2005 facelifted Lexus LS 430 XF30 body with only 2,300 Kilometers, or around 1,400 Miles. Easily the most preserved LS 430 in the world, sans any existing museum pieces. Just like the 1st generation Lexus LS400, this LS430 does not disappoint with the buttery smooth 3UZ-FE engine which feels exactly the same at idle, and at 7,000 RPM. Hands down, the smoothest car I have ever driven, and the best luxury car every made.

While this particular car I tested did not come with it, the LS was available with optional Lidar based adaptive cruise control (in 2001.... think about that), and later on in 2004 with the Radar based adaptive cruise control.
