Jagat Janani - Sanjeev Abhyankar

Jai Maa (Maa - Divine Mother) celebrates the Hindu supreme goddess, Shakti ("Power" or "Energy") in her numerous manifestations. Shakti is conceived of either as the paramount goddess or as the consort of a male deity, generally Lord Shiva.

People of spiritual disposition worship Shakti as the divine will, the divine mother who calls for absolute surrender. In popular worship, Maa Shakti, goddess Shakti is known by many names; some scholars consider most female deities in Hinduism to be her different manifestations. She may be referred to simply as Devi (goddess).

In the eastern Indian state of Bengal, the demon destroying Durga and the fierce destructive Kali play a significant role in people's daily lives. The autumn festival of Durga Puja is fervently celebrated with the parading of ornately decorated clay models of hers through the streets. On the other hand, the people of Gujarat celebrate Devi and her different manifestations during the nine-night festival of Navratri through music and dance.

Through all four seasons, one or more of Divine Mother's aspects is celebrated all over India and beyond.

The divine chants and prayers of this supreme Cosmic Force, Devi, is said to bring peace and harmony in our daily life. Jai Maa is one such celebration that will help you realise this Cosmic Force. Subscribe to Sona Rupa on YouTube: http://bit.ly/SonaRupa
