Plasti Dip Truck Badges

I'm painting the chrome badges on my F150 with some Plasti Dip. You can do this in a lot of different colors, but I really like the black look on a dark vehicle. If you are interested in a project like this, check my affiliate links below for Plasti Dip. This one requires minimal tools, just some patience and attention to detail.

It was a little more difficult than I thought it would be, especially cleaning out the very small places. I wound up sanding a pointed edge on the tip of a disposable chop stick. This allowed me to clean the plasti dip in tight spaces in the F and the 5. I felt pretty safe that the point on soft wood would get the dip and not damage the clear coat.

I recommend at least the four recommended coats the instructions suggest. I might go a little higher if I were to do it again, just to give the plasti dip more strength. It should just peel off, but it tore pretty easy. It may look like I did more than four coats, but I was doing both sides of the truck.
