2012 Serpentine Memory Marathon: John Berger
On Saturday October 13th, 2012, The Space streamed the Memory Marathon live from the Serpentine Gallery, the seventh annual festival of ideas inspired by the annual Pavilion commission. Internationally renowned artists, writers, historians, musicians, film-makers, neuroscientists, robotics engineers, a scent expert and the Grand Master of Memory gathered in the glowing, geodesic dome for eleven hours of performances, discussions and presentations.
This is a recording of a conversation with writer and critic John Berger. His many books, innovative in form and far-reaching in their historical and political insight, include the Booker Prize-winning novel G, To the Wedding and Berger on Drawing, edited by Jim Savage.
He was talking to the curator Hans-Ulrich Obrist.
