Exploring My Back Yard (Summer Recon) | How Getting Outdoors Turned Me Into a Euphoric Idiot

The quarantine is real - and though some of you are saying; "How can you be getting restless living in a place as magisterial as Whistler, Canada." Well, too much of a good thing, and after exceedingly tired of just each others company, Andreas and I decided to head a couple hours north as part of a scouting mission for future snowboarding, camping and biking... as the ppl come up from Vancouver to get away from the crowds, we in turn need to get away from those crowds.

Whistler is part of the Coastal Mountain chain, and all of the moisture coming from the Pacific gets condensed travelling over the mountains and covers the area consistently in rain classifying it as a "temperate rainforest." However you don't have to travel far east for the climate to change to a desert. From our first stop north of Pemberton, at (Strawberry Point) Anderson Lake, we head over Duffy Lake Rd past Joffre Lake (still closed) and down in Lilooeet.

Some of the communities in this area have higher at risk populations at the moment and some are partially or fully closed to non-locals. Which we unaware's. Lillooet town is still functioning however please try to be respectful of the local communities. Fortunately our body odor and inability to socialize meant people naturally stayed well away from us.

I love the fact that even though we are more or less in my "backyard", in Canadian terms, there are so many places to explore. Plus it's good to get some recon (some of the back roads have been partially washed out due to the rains), and scoping vibes in these smaller communities. Restrictions have been lifted locally and camping is now on the menu so we hope to be getting out soon, the area is littered with campsites down the creeks that separate the mountain ranges. Now we just have to wait for the rain to stop for a more than a couple hours.

Thanks so much for watching, much love and I hope you the best! Hopefully we can all get outdoors and get back to nature. I think we can all agree there is something that happens to us when we are able to enjoy the majesty of the outdoors, which I took for granted and after being stuck inside for so long recently definitely have a new appreciation for.
