Director’s Note:

This installment isn’t a fully fledged sequel, but a vignette. An intermission.

We shot this video remotely during one of the worst parts of quarantine here in New York City. It was tough, but considering our logistical circumstances, it gave us the perfect avenue for Kaila and Natalie to explore this aspect of their characters’ relationship.

I wanted to give the audience a glimpse into what Dalia and Kenzie’s correspondence would look like now that they are not only long distance, but in the midst of such a pivotal transition in their lives.

If you’ve ever been fortunate enough to attend college out of state (or country), you‘re probably aware of how quickly you’re thrust into new responsibilities. While you may have freedoms you didn’t possess before, the adjustment period of suddenly having to pay rent and do your own grocery shopping in between studying can catch you off guard.

All of the newness of university can be incredibly overwhelming for some and invigorating for others. And when you’re juggling that as well as trying to figure out where you stand with your best friend who you have feelings for?

That can be rough.

This intermission was a fun dynamic to explore and plants a few seeds that we will see pay off in a proper sequel (assuming we’ll have the means to produce one in the future).
