17:28 — Why immersive filmmaking is AI-proof
In this tutorial, I compare the Canon RF 7-14mm F2.8-3.5L Fisheye STM on the Canon EOS R6 Mark III against the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive to test real-world image quality for 180° immersive video production. I explain why the R6 III image appears softer than the URSA (optical low-pass filter and RGBW sensor technology), demonstrate close-up shallow depth of field in immersive 180° that is not possible on any stereoscopic 3D camera system, and test the R5C, R5, and C50 to find the best Canon camera and shooting settings for this new fisheye lens.
The complete workflow covers Canon Fisheye processing in EOS VR Utility v1.9, editing in DaVinci Resolve with VR180 preview, export settings for maximum quality, and publishing to YouTube VR and Apple Vision Pro using the free Hugh Hou Spatial Injector v1.3 with support for Canon monoscopic 180° video and APMP conversion.
This entire video is presented in 180° immersive format. View it on Meta Quest, Apple Vision Pro, Samsung Galaxy XR, or YouTube VR for the full experience.
