CHRONOS (ZX SPECTRUM - FULL GAME)

Zeus presents Chronos (un-emulated) for the zx spectrum, a true classic from the golden era of spectrum gaming which must not be forgotten alongside the software house and all programmers that were involved in making this game.

Year of release: 1987

In this shmup the god of time Chronos is trapped and it's your job to rescue him / her / whatever.
The game starts off with another one of those bleeper scores by Tim Follin (included her in full at 0:19), very clever indeed but I will always prefer the sound of the 128k ay chip over these, they just tend to make my head hurt a little, but I do recognise that these multi channel bleeper tunes he produces are impressive.
The game it'self is 1 long level, changing colours as you pass through the zones, sprites and backgrounds are clear and move quite nicely, the sound fx are pretty basic, no special power-up's unless you type in the secret code into the high score table giving you a megalaser (i've shown this at 21:49).
Not a bad shmup especially for a budget title but there are better ones out there.
I have used the invincibility poke so I could upload the entire game for your viewing pleasure.
