WATCH: Why parents shouldn't beat themselves up for using screen time as a respite

Dr. Jack Shonkoff of Harvard University's Center on the Developing Child tells PBS NewsHour correspondent William Brangham that while parents should limit to screen time, especially for younger children, he urged caregivers to do what they need to do during the COVID-19 pandemic to "lower the tension and lower the stress" and get through the day. Shonkoff urged parents to give themselves more leeway to not be too strict during these hard times, and to remember that "the best parents do about 10 things wrong every day."
