The Kabardino-Balkar Republic
The Kabardino-Balkar republic is two nations in one. The shared home of the Balkars (a Turkic people) and the Kabardians (a Circassian tribe), it sits at the foot of the tallest mountain in both all of Europe and all of Russia. The home of dramatic gorges and beautiful valleys, the Kabardino-Balkar republic is littered with remnants of their history: dramatic, tragic and fiercely defended.
