GOING TO WHITTIER AND SEWARD ALASKA

Next stop on the nomadic adventure is… ALASKA. one of our closest friends is getting married and this trip was filled with fun from her bachelorette party. Due to the current state of the world we attempted to find the best way to celebrate her without going to Vegas. We loaded the car and made our way to Seward Alaska. Let me tell you, Sewered Alaska is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! surrounded by mountains on both sides this little fishing town has its own unique charm. Seward is where local Alaska fishermen /fisherwomen collide with a booming tourist culture. The tiny town has its fair share of dive bars and fancy restaurants that harmoniously share real estate. ( We hit them both up, life is all about balance.) On our way home we stopped in Whittier Alaska. I can honestly say Whittier Alaska might be the most unique place I have ever been. With one way in and one way out down a one way road… going through a tunnel… THROUGH A MOUNTAIN! you pop out the other side of the 2.5 mile tunnel surrounded by 360° of snow capped mountains. Whittier is worth the 2.5 mile tunnel because of its fishing port, but that is not the most unique part of this little town. Whittier has about 300 residents that live there full time… are you ready for it? They all live in the same building. The one residential building has a church a store and a tunnel under ground with access to the school! When I heard this I was mind blown.
In this video we also found ourselves at the Alaska mud flats, getting the BEST COFFEE I’ve ever had from cute local coffee shops, and enjoying time with family. Shopping local and supporting Alaska grown companies is the reality of life in Alaska, and it is something we love to do.
As for the coffee, if you find yourself in Anchorage That Feeling Co. has the most amazing coffee EVER!
