TrainTravel Netherlands ~ Utrecht ~ (1/2) ~ Music: Jan Garbarek, Red Wind

On April 26, 2010, I travelled from Uden, Netherlands, to Amsterdam.
During the journey the plans changed because of a huge delay in Culemborg, fifteen minutes from Central Station Utrecht, and fifty four minutes from Amsterdam.
The train on Station Culemborg which was ahead of our train, could not go further, because of problems with the engine. After a while it was obvious that there had to come another engine from Utrecht, to bring the train to Utrecht, because nobody could repair it. Behind us a queue of trains was growing, all on their way to Amsterdam/Schiphol/Alkmaar, coming from Maastricht.
We could not get out of the train, because a part of the train was not next to the platform, and it would be too dangerous to open the doors. We waited more than an hour. Total delay: one and a half hour.
This video starts with photos from Culemborg, the time we were waiting. After that we continue the journey, filmed. In the meantime my daughter Geertje stepped in Amsterdam into the train to Utrecht..... Plans had been changed into new ones, in Culemborg, to avoid more loss of time to see each other. New possibilities were there and it has been a wonderful day in Utrecht. Watch also:
