How Guided Wave Radar Level Sensor Works | Animation Explained | GiantWell Industrial Instruments

Guided Wave Radar (GWR) is a high-precision level measurement technology based on Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) principle.

🔬 How It Works:
1️⃣ Transmitter generates microwave pulse signal
2️⃣ Electromagnetic wave travels down the probe
3️⃣ Signal reflects when it hits the liquid surface
4️⃣ Level is calculated by measuring the time difference
5️⃣ Outputs 4-20mA or digital signal (HART/Modbus)

✅ Key Advantages:
• High accuracy (±2mm / ±0.08 inch)
• Unaffected by foam, vapor, dust, or turbulence
• Works with low dielectric constant materials (εr ≥ 1.4)
• Interface level detection capability
• No moving parts - maintenance-free
• Temperature range: -200°C to +400°C
• Pressure range: Vacuum to 400 bar

🏭 Applications:
Chemical Tanks | Oil & Gas Storage | Water Treatment | Food & Pharmaceutical | Powder Silos
