Protect Our Planet | Conservation Collaborations | 30 Rhinos for 30 Years

Towards the end of 2021, we took part in the historic translocation of 30 white rhinos from andBeyond Phinda Private Game Reserve to Akagera National Park in Rwanda - this is story of the rhinos and people involved in this incredible step for rhino conservation.

30 years ago, when our dream started, there was not a single white rhino on andBeyond Phinda Private Game Reserve. Now, 30 years later, we were able to help in the moving of 30 white rhino to their new home; almost 3 400 km away.

This translocation was made possible through the partnership and collaboration between African Parks Network, andBeyond Travel, the Rwanda Development Board, Conservation Solutions, and Akagera National Park, with funding from the Howard G Buffet Foundation.
