Nasher Prize Dialogues: Why Sculpture Now?

The first Nasher Prize Dialogue program, a panel discussion entitled Why Sculpture Now?, explores the position of sculpture within art practice today.

The discussion took place in London at the Institute of Contemporary Arts on Sunday, October 11, 2015, in the lead up to the Frieze Art Fair week. Organized in association with The Henry Moore Institute and the Institute of Contemporary Arts, the panel included Okwui Enwezor, Director Haus Der Kunst and Nasher Prize juror; artist and Nasher Prize juror, Phyllida Barlow; artists Michael Dean and Eva Rothschild; and Nasher Sculpture Center Chief Curator Jed Morse. Lisa Le Feuvre, Head of Sculpture Studies at the Henry Moore Institute moderated the panel.

Nasher Prize Dialogues is intended to foster international awareness of sculpture and of the Nasher Prize, and to stimulate discussion and debate. Programs—including panel discussions, lectures, and symposia—will be held in cities around the world on a yearly basis, offering engagement with various audiences, and providing myriad perspectives and insight into the ever-expanding field of sculpture.
