Heavy Seas Limited Release Schnee Boot Barrel Aged Eisbock

Today we are bringing you a very rare style of beer from the wonderful Heavy Seas brewery. The Schnee Boot, or ‘Snow Boat’, is a barrel aged Eisbock that comes packing a punch at 13% ABV, the strongest beer that Heavy Seas has ever made. For those unfamiliar with the Eisbock style, it is made by brewing a traditional dopplebock, chilling it to the point where it freezes, and then removing the ice to help concentrate the alcohol and flavors. The result is a wonderfully aromatic beer with lots of fruit flavors that are complimented very well with a nice malt backbone from the barrel aging process. Fans of German style beers will be remiss if they don’t reserve the Schnee Boot because not only are Eisbock’s hard to come by, barrel aged ones are even more rare. Not to mention that this beer is packed full of flavor and drinks incredibly smooth for 13% ABV.
