Ethan Bennett Tribute

I recently participated in a big collab megamix project run by Arkham Asylum where me and a bunch of other video editors made parts for all of the villains of the show, The Batman. One of the villains I did was the Ethan Bennett Clayface and afterwards I thought to myself that since I had to get all of his scenes for that and I had another song that works for him, I might as well use the scenes to make my own full video for him and put it on my channel. Here we have another Batman villain who is not from the comics (I seem to have done a lot of those for some reason). When The Batman was made, there was some dumb rule that the show couldn’t use any villains that were going to be in The Dark Knight movies because they thought it would confuse kids or something so Two-Face, Scarecrow, and Ra’s al Ghul were banned from this show (I guess Joker got out of this for being Joker). But I guess the creators really wanted to use Two-Face in the show so they created a character really similar to him named Ethan Bennett except he just becomes Clayface instead for some reason. Despite this weird mess, this version of Clayface is actually my favorite villain on the show as I personally found his story arc to be very compelling and interesting….. although maybe it’s also because Two-Face is my favorite Batman villain. I would think it would be cool if they could incorporate him in the comics and other media as well (along with D.A.V.E.) but I kind of understand why they never did as this guy is basically just Harvey Dent as Clayface so he seems a bit redundant whenever Two-Face is actually around. Then again last time I checked there are like 12 different Clayfaces in the comics so maybe they could get him in there too someday, if people would actually remember that The Batman existed.

Anyway, since the Spider-Man villains are so popular on my channel (and two of them are even my most viewed videos overall), I decided that next I’ll do another one that I recently thought of a song for. So stay tuned for that.
