The first reading is of 'Blind Lemon Jefferson' - a 14 verse piece of poetry and prose. Nick had written it for a collection of short stories he was working on at the time, commissioned by Spring Press. He would eventually scrap the project and so it was later published in 'King Ink'
(17:50) The second reading is of three extracts from a very early draft of 'King Euchrid', which would eventually become Cave's first novel 'And the Ass Saw the Angel'.
