West End ~ Hilarious Stick Overboard & Mayhem On Nest! WE1 Gets Clobbered & Ducks! 4.14.24

Thunder arrives to the nest with a huge multi pronged tree branch & everyone has to get out of the way! AK tries to take control as both Thunder & AK wrangle it. Poor WE1 gets clobbered and has to duck its head & move out of the way but there isn't much room on the nest for five eagles! AK works on placing the branch off the side of the nest - Thunder says "I am out of here - you all deal with it" and flies off. Finally AK has it hanging off the side rails and then loses it 05:15. The stick goes overboard and the look on AK's face is priceless! Never a dull moment at the nest! Thank you for watching!

Nest info: Eaglets WE1, hatch 3/9 -3am; WE2, hatch 3/9 -7pm; WE3, 3/12 hatch by 4:10am; Thunder (F) 15 yrs old; Akecheta (M) (wing tag 61) 8 yrs old.

This eagle pair is a success story, part of a bald eagle restoration program started by the Institute for Wildlife Studies in 1980. Their nest has been active since 1991 and has been streaming live since 2005.
