Mia Lewis - THE LUCKIEST GIRL (1965)

NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED - (Parrot 9785-B) Out of England, 'The Luckiest Girl' is the flip to 'It's Goodbye Now', a beautiful double-sider issued in the United States in September of 1965. Mia Lewis, a lovely and talented Welsh pop singer from the mid-sixties, cut five discs between 1965-67 : Wish I Didn't Love Him (Decca) USA - Parrot; It's Goodbye Now (Decca) USA - Parrot; Nothing Lasts Forever (Parlophone); No Time For Lovin' (Parlophone); and Woman's Love (Parlophone). The fact that her singles were not big sellers was in no way because of a lack of quality. This young lady could belt out these dramatic pop ballads over the lushly orchestrated backing tracks. Mia made many appearances on TV and toured the UK. She even had plans to visit the States where her debut Parrot Records single was getting decent reviews. Unfortunately, despite possessing dreamy looks and a strong voice, her records never made much of an impact on the charts, and her pop career sank without trace.

Many thanks to Anthony Brockway of Wales whose information regarding Mia Lewis as well as her photo was posted at the very informative BABYLON WALES blog:
