First Flight...Volksplane VP-1

When Pete Evans came to us in June, 2016, with a simple film transfer, we had no idea about the history of Evans Aircraft Company of La Jolla...or of the Volksplane. The film, shot around 1968, just begged for a story to be told. We now present "First Flight", a short documentary narrated by Pete Evans, son of the late William "Bud" Evans.
"The Evans VP-1 Volksplane is an all wood, strut braced, open cockpit, single seat, low wing aircraft designed for amateur construction. It is simple to build and safe and easy to fly."
