Steely Dan - Aja - Drum Cover by Ryan Masecar

Featuring, more or less, a full transcription of Steve Gadd's actual solos!

This was going to be my first quarantine project, right? Boy did I get in deep. This song was not recorded to a metronome as far as I can tell - there's just the tiniest bit of ebb and flow throughout the course of the tune, so you have to trust that you're locked right in with Steve.

Green Gretsch USA Custom kit from the late 80s or early 90s; 16x22, 11x13 on the left, 10x12, 8x10, 16x16, and an 8x8 I don't think I hit. Clear Emps over ebony Ambassadors on toms; kick is now smooth white P3 batter and Aquarian Vintage Modern front. Snare is the 5x14 COB Supraphonic LB400B reissue with a Fiberskyn over Hazy Amb'rs, a muffle ring, and standard Ludwig chrome snares.

14" Turkish K hats! 17" Paiste Sig Mellow crash, 20" Sabian HHX Complex Thin crash, 10" HHX Evo splash, 22" Artisan Medium Ride (on loan from 2112), 22" Paiste Traditional Light Ride. Hammerax Sky Hats and my faux-Portnoy stack not used for this song.
