The MC5 in Ten - Beginning to end - Fame, fortune and glory to the band's demise in 1972.
The MC5 in Ten: The MC5 are 5 guys with passion who changed the musical world. Drummer Machine Gun Thompson tells his story of the MC5's journey in ten minuets. The MC5's music is a major influence on rock, punk and generations of musicians.
MC5 drummer Dennis Thompson tells us how band began, plus some of their milestones on the way to fortune, fame and glory. In his new interview in 2019 Dennis goes into even more detail about the bands demise in 1972. In this 2000 interview, Dennis says that ultimately it was politics that tore the band apart. The 2019 interview offers the secrets that he never has told before.
More stories where Dennis talks about individual songs and experiences are at the United Earth Fund web site. UEF is planning to release of a full MC5 concert that I recorded at the Grande Ballroom in 1967. This is not a boot leg. I made many recording of the band with their permission over a couple year time frame.
