By the end of this year, the tests of the Russian robotic combat platform "Marker" will be completed, which will become the main type of combat robots in the infantry units of the Russian ground forces.

The idea of supporting ground units in battle by robots existed as early as in the First World War, but a war in Syria became the first military conflict with the extensive practical use of combat robots.
The Russian army successfully tested in Syria combat platforms ''Uran'', of which the Uran-six and Uran-nine robot models were most often mentioned, as well as the ''Argo'', ''Sphere'', ''Avatar'', ''Nerekhta'', and Platform-M.

In general, the first use of robotic systems in real combat was considered successful.
The military conflict in Syria made it clear to Russia that it was necessary to move from a wide range of highly specialized unique developments to the concept of single unified platforms with flexible modular equipment. And with the creation of the robotic combat platform "Marker", the first successful tests of which were completed in Syria, in November 2019, Russia received a single unified platform with flexible modular equipment.
Based on Syrian combat experience, Russian engineers created a flexible, stable platform of high operational reliability with the possibility of the simultaneous use of two types of weapons and one type of additional equipment. The list of weapons includes a twelve-point seven-millimeter machine gun, an automatic grenade launcher, launchers of various missiles, including anti-tank ones, in addition to them, electronic and optical reconnaissance equipment, guidance, suppression, and electronic warfare systems can also be installed on the robotic combat platform "Marker", as well as launchers for barrage rockets and unmanned drones.
Thus, based on a single robotic combat platform "Marker", which simplifies its mastering and maintenance, depending on the specific tactical situation, up to 20 different options can be equipped, including a light vehicle for overcoming anti-personnel mines. However, these are not the only advantages of the robotic combat platform "Marker".

Due to the structural features of the chassis, all existing at the moment, both Russian and Western analogs, able to conduct targeted fire only strictly from the spot without movement.
