READ DESCRIPTION FOR STEPS
1. have wood precut to the desired size
2. mark where you'd like your brackets to go with a pencil. remember to drill on the side that will be facing the floor.
3. using a piece of tape mark off the length of the screw on drill bit. you'll want to use a drill bit that is a little thinner than the screws you plan on using. so its a snug fit when you install the screw but big enough so the screw won't split the wood. also make sure the head of the screw is big enough to not go through the bracket.
4. stain the wood
- wear gloves!!! it might burn too lol and get everywhere. I like putting it on with a brush and rag. I stained one side and the edges then flipped the wood onto cans while drying so I could paint both sides right away. Let dry.
5. spray paint brakets to desired color. I recommend using a paint and primer in one that's meant to go on metal.
6. mark the center of the wall and the center of your board pre-drilled side up. match up the center of the wall with the center of your board. once level mark where the brackets will go by filling in holes with pencil.
7. install drywall anchors. I like to use my drill but most people use a hammer.
8. line brackets up with drywall anchors and screw into place.
9. one all the brackets are in, starting from the top shelf use your screw driver to secure wood to L- brackets.
