Why Should I Manage My Forest? - Jeff Steinkraus - 2023 Backyard Symposium

The Van Buren Conservation District hosted its third Backyard Symposium in February 2023. The series is called “Building a Better Backyard: Branching Beyond Your Backyard.”

Management decisions have an impact on the present forest as well as the future forest. Find out how a forester can guide you through management decisions to meet your management objectives for your forest for now and for the future.

Jeff Steinkraus is the owner of Steinkraus Forest Management, LLC. Jeff’s consulting career started in 1993 with Wakeland Forestry Consultants. In 2007, Steinkraus Forest Management, LLC was formed. In 2012, we bought Tree Tech from Tom Stadt and hired Chris D’Hulster to help with the additional clients. They manage several hundred acres of forest each year for landowners with a variety of management objectives. Services offered include forest management plans, timber sale assistance, forest stand improvement work, brush management of invasive species, and tree
planting.
